![]() I am very much aware of all the testing and all the issues around it. And if they disclosed it, I am sure they would not have a problem disclosing it via email, but I have followed this product from day one and I never saw this information anywhere reliable. So, the protection could very well be close to that value, but it has NEVER been disclosed officially by Bioderma. And I am also partly to blame because I bought this sunscreen the moment it was available and the importing company in Greece, where I live, had a sticker on the product with the UVA PF of 42 and I also believed it for a while and I made a post here informing everyone about the UVA PF value and then I realised it was just from the previous product and then the Spanish and Greek site also removed the information and I deleted my post. ![]() I am very confident that the UVA PF is NOT 42 and that the misunderstanding I mentioned is the source of all this information you are referring to. What we know for sure is that it looks like Bioderma performs like a beast with both in vivo and in vitro testing and is unique as a brand for doing so compared to others. However, in vitro testing is very difficult to mimic the skin. I'm not sure if you know but the industry in general is working to move away from in vivo testing because of ethical reasons. Brands usually disclose the average mean of all the readings.Īnd then Bioderma tends to overperform what they disclose to the public when it comes to third party in vitro testing: Since whenever doing testing, there will be multiple readings. Bioderma does in vivo as per EU regulations and they seem to disclose the lower end of the range. Maybe someone should email them and find out.Īs far as the big range of UVA-PF values, it depends on the test. Several others on the reddit skincare said they found the same thing. ![]() Mentions the UVA-PF of the new family milk as 42. I owe long term use of that one for never needing botox at my age. I am very familiar with that one and the white cast. I used Bioderma Max Lait (non family) for almost 20 years before switching it out several years ago.
